Valerie Dennigan is an Irish artist whose contemporary landscapes and mixed media works are inspired by the ever-changing beauty of Ireland.

While living by the sea in Malahide first sparked her love of painting, it is the landscape of Connemara, where she now spends much of her time, that has become central to her creative practice. The shifting light, weathered boglands and Atlantic coastline inspire paintings that seek to capture atmosphere, memory and a sense of place rather than a literal view.

Working in acrylics, oils and encaustic, Valerie enjoys exploring texture and layered surfaces. Her encaustic and mixed media pieces combine molten beeswax, pigment and natural materials, allowing each work to evolve intuitively and reflect the rich textures found in the Irish landscape.

Valerie has been painting for over twenty-five years and her work is held in private collections in Ireland and abroad. She exhibits regularly in Merrion Square, Dublin, while continuing to develop new work from her studios in Dublin and Connemara.
